Abstract
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) colitis frequently occurs in immune compromised adults including those with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), solid organ transplantation, cancer chemotherapy, and bone marrow transplantation. Cytomegalovirus colitis after chemotherapy is an unusual finding. We treated a 51-year old male patient who had cytomegalovirus colitis with administration of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) with leukovorin (LV) chemotherapy after laparoscopic resection of rectal cancer.
